Since I already took a ferry in Mombasa, Kenya. I knew approximately what to expect, because Tanzania and Kenya are very similar to each other. This time it's about taking a night ferry from Dar es Salaam(capital of Tanzania) to one of near islands, the drive is about 15-20 minutes. If you already took any ferry in Africa, you know what chaos I am talking about. For those who don't know, you must imagine hundreds of people trying to get on 1 boat, because nobody obviously wants to wait for the another one, even it's just 30 more minutes of waiting. In my opinion, taking ferry in Tanzania is not that difficult as in Kenya, because the ferries are much smaller and there are not so many people. In Kenya people are running so fast to pass the gate and get on the boat like their lives depend on it. If you ever will visit Mombasa(Kenya), try to take a ferry during rush hour, I can guarantee you, that you will experience somethings, what you haven't experienced before. Also as a white traveller it's interesting to be on the boat, where are 99% of all passangers black people. Everyone is staring at you like you are something special, even you are not. I respect everyone with the same respect, no matter on colour of the skin or nationality.
